Neskowin, meaning “Land of many fish”, is one of Oregon’s best kept secrets.  It is located along the Pacific Ocean from the cliffs of Cascade Head (a little North of Lincoln City) to the mouth of the Little Nestucca River (just South of Pacific City).  These are 7 miles of one of the nicest beaches in Oregon, making for a perfect family vacation or a romantic get-away for two. This serene little beach town has a unique ambience of cottages and condos in between its beautiful beach and surrounding rolling hills.  Its defining landmark is Proposal Rock, a large basalt seastack covered with vegetation that sits right at the tide zone. Neskowin has a full-time population of approximately 300, growing to about 1500 in the summer months.  Commercial areas are limited to the well-stocked Neskowin Market, the very popular and delicious Hawk Creek Café, and a golf course, horse stable, and a renowned art gallery. Within a short drive are a host of activities: two more golf courses, deep-sea fishing, hiking trails, bicycling, horseback riding, surfing, galleries, scenic highways, tide pools, bird watching, seal and whale watching, angling, museums, kayaking, microbreweries and wine tasting, world-famous restaurants, hunting, sand dunes, clamming and crabbing, boating at Devil’s Lake, light houses, the Newport Aquarium, the Sea Lion Caves, legal gambling at Chinook Winds Casino, and shopping at the well-known Lincoln City Factory Outlet Mall.
