Neskowin, meaning "Land of many fish," is one of Oregon’s best kept secrets. It’s located along the Pacific Ocean from the cliffs of Cascade Head (a little North of Lincoln City) to the mouth of the Little Nestucca River (just South of Pacific City). These are 7 miles of one of the nicest beaches in Oregon, making for a perfect family vacation or a romantic get-away for two. This serene little beach town has a unique ambience of cottages and condos in between its beautiful beach and surrounding rolling hills. Its defining landmark is Proposal Rock, a large basalt seastack covered with vegetation that sits right at the tide zone. Neskowin has a full-time population of approximately 300, growing to about 1500 in the summer months. Commercial areas are limited to the well-stocked Neskowin Market, the very popular and delicious Hawk Creek Cafe, two 9-hole golf courses, a horse stable, and a renowned art gallery.
